MapInfo MIF/MID

MapInfo MIF (MapInfo Interchange Format) is MapInfo's data exchange format. MIF files store geometric graphics data, and MID files store corresponding attribute data. Unlike TAB format, MIF/MID is a plain text format more suitable for cross-platform data exchange. Many GIS software use MIF/MID as a bridge for interacting with MapInfo data.
